The Lynxmotion Hunter VTail 500 Drone (Base Combo Kit + Quadrino Nano Controller) delivers high performance and in contrast to the ‘x’ or ‘+’ shaped quadcopters and Y-shaped tricopters , the concept of VTail that is used to engineer this drone merges both the concepts and uses two angled rear propellers. The frame of this drone is made with the aid of onboard sensors and is larger than the VTail 400 drone. Using aluminum standoffs, the hardware of this VTail is made using premium quality metal and is thus, resistant to rust. Steel screw and lock nuts complete the hardware of this drone.

Many tricopter designs use a servo to angle the rear propeller to rotate the aircraft clockwise / counter-clockwise, and have an issue with asymmetry (only two propellers can counter-rotate while the third causes a bit of rotation). A 6-rotor tricopter solves the symmetry issue, but is more expensive as it requires three additional motors and ESCs.

Lynxmotion Quadrino Nano 

The Lynxmotion Quadrino Nano was created as a collaboration between FlyingEinstein and the Lynxmotion team. (see press release) It was designed to be one of the smallest possible flight controllers on the market, The board includes many additional features normally reserved to much more expensive flight controllers.  The Quadrino is the only MultiWii controller with the easy to use Firmware Config software eliminating the need for the Arduino Development Environment. This easy wizard-like application will lead you through the entire process while providing lots of documentation on the various options and parameters you have available. When you are done selecting your options this tool will build and upload your custom firmware directly to your Quadrino board. It will also install the MultiWiiConf config GUI for you.
